Wednesday Beer Tasting 2/1 - Blacksnake Meadery

Blacksnake Meadery in Dugspur, waaaaay down in southwest VA, is Carroll County's first winery. Here's the thing though; they make honey wine – that is to say, mead. Blacksnake (named after the plentiful black snakes on their former tobacco farm) is family owned and operated. Steve and Joanne Villers favor “dry meads that highlight the floral characteristics of honey rather than its sweetness.” However, like a craft brewery they approach mead making with a spirit of fun and creativity. Have you passed by these bottles in the Beer Room and wondered what they're about? Well, it's time you tried the meads of Blacksnake Meadery.
