"Oberon is a breath of what’s to come, it’s the summer that’s upon us,” -Sarah Burt, loyal Bell’s enthusiast.
Named after the legendary king of fairies, best known for his work changing the weather in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, this American wheat ale fittingly shows up when the days start getting longer and the clothes start getting shorter.
A fifty-fifty mash of American two row barley and wheat, a copious amount of Czech Saaz hops, and a dry American yeast is a short list of ingredients. The flavors are subsequently simple; light bread, citrus and some spiciness, but simplcity is the virtue and purpose of this beer. It's one less thing to wrap your head around when things get different.
