Finca El Reposo Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Astonishing Cabernet!

Bodega Campo Negro is a new, yet traditional winery in the Cyuan area of Mendoza. They produce an excellent line of wines in the town of La Consulta under the name “Finca El Reposo,” or “Resting Vineyard.” This astonishing value is one of the best Cabernets we've tasted in a while! It is dark with intense blackcurrant aromas with hints of oak. Rich blackfruits layer on the palate with fine, ripe tannins. Oh, so fine! And its 33% off!

Duck Rabbit Baltic Porter 6P

Carolina Craftiness

Is it a rabbit? A duck? Such is the visual conundrum in the logo of Farmville, NC’s Duck Rabbit Craft Brewery. Their Baltic Porter is also a puzzle. It’s got the body of a Baltic Porter but it’s got the chocolate and roast notes of a stout. There’s the Baltic sourness on the finish but all this complexity before. Is it fish or fur? Dunno. It is fine, though.

Hugl Gruner Veltliner 2010 (Liter)

Take Me to Your Liter

Sylvia and Martin Hugl are a young couple in Ketzelsdorf-Poysdorf in north-east Austria who have just taken over from their parents. Their fresh and vibrant Grüner Veltliner shows citrus, grapefruit, and tropical fruit aromas with a hint of freshly ground white pepper. Its nice depth and mineral backbone make this an almost universal match for all foods. Since liter bottles contain one-third more volume than standard wine bottles, the equivalent price is $5.96.
