Rock Rabbit makes one red wine: Shiraz. Alex Cose, of the Purple Wine Co., assembles each vintage from vineyards in California's Central Coast. "Every winemaker has his hot buttons and mine are blueberries and chocolate." (Santa Barbera vineyards provide the blue fruit. American oak barrels provide the chocolate.) The result is a stunning value full of ripe black fruits, spice, and of course, blueberry, and chocolate.

Viticulture and Enology Program - PVCC

PVCC's Viticulture and Enology Program continues this fall!

From one-day seminars to a yearlong curriculum, for the hobbyist and the budding professional, Piedmont Virginia Community College offers a new program in the growing of grapes and the making of wine. Here in what is known as "the wine capital of Virginia" local wine makers have gotten together with PVCC to create opportunities for training and experiential learning in the art of wine making.
